New Delhi: The internal crisis in the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has intensified in South Kolkata after supporters of the Mamata Banerjee-led faction allegedly locked the party office used by Jadavpur MP Saayoni Ghosh and put up posters accusing her of betrayal.

The dramatic incident took place at the Ward 106 office in Garfa, Jadavpur, which Ghosh had been using for party meetings, organisational work and public outreach activities.

‘No Place for Traitors’: Posters Put Up Outside Office

According to reports, TMC workers loyal to Mamata Banerjee’s faction arrived at the office and placed posters carrying the message “Gaddaron ke liye koi jagah nahi” (No place for traitors).

The workers alleged that Ghosh no longer had the right to use TMC resources after reportedly aligning herself with a breakaway political faction. They also questioned why a leader who had moved away from the party’s official line was still using its infrastructure.

Workers Lock Office After Confrontation

The protesting workers reportedly found a person identified as Saayoni Ghosh’s secretary inside the office. They asked him to leave the premises, following which the office was locked.

The action has highlighted the growing differences between rival groups within the party and added another chapter to the ongoing political dispute.

Saayoni Ghosh Among MPs Facing Political Dispute

Saayoni Ghosh, who won the Jadavpur Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 elections on a TMC ticket, is among party MPs who have reportedly aligned themselves with the NCPI and the NDA.

Petitions seeking action under the anti-defection law against these MPs are reportedly pending before Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

TMC Crisis Widens After Election Setback

The latest controversy comes amid a larger power struggle within the Trinamool Congress following its defeat in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections.

Rival camps led by Mamata Banerjee and rebel leader Ritabrata Banerjee have been engaged in a battle over the party’s leadership and organisational control. The rebel faction has claimed support from several elected representatives and has announced a parallel organisational structure, further deepening the crisis within the party.
