New Delhi: BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Saturday launched a veiled attack on the CJP protest, alleging that “people sitting abroad” are attempting to influence India’s youth and push them towards “negative politics.”

He made the remarks during an Intellectuals Meet in Ranchi, as part of his two-day organisational visit to Jharkhand.

“Youth should focus on nation-building”

Addressing party workers and intellectuals, Nabin said Indian youth are primarily focused on development and securing their future, but are being wrongly labelled as anti-establishment by some sections.

He said, “Some people sitting abroad think they can dictate the direction of India’s youth,” according to BJP’s official communication on X.

Allegations of “negative politics”

The BJP chief claimed that certain groups are attempting to misguide young people and pull them into disruptive political narratives. He asserted that such efforts would be countered through democratic means.

“We will oppose on the basis of democracy, but we will not allow the standards of democracy to be destroyed,” he said.

Farmers and development focus

Nabin also highlighted the role of farmers in India’s growth, stating that agricultural welfare remains a central priority. He said the government aims to improve outcomes in the sector and work towards doubling farmers’ income.

Jharkhand organisational visit

During his visit, Nabin attended meetings with BJP MPs and MLAs in Ranchi, where he was welcomed by party workers. He also paid tribute to tribal icon Birsa Munda, calling Jharkhand “like home.”

The visit is seen as politically significant ahead of upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in the state, with nominations due by June 8 and polling scheduled for June 18.
