Coimbatore: In a sharp rebuttal to the DMK, BJP National Mahila Morcha President Vanathi Srinivasan on Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has rightly exposed the DMK’s “ideology of hatred” towards people from northern states, including Bihar.

Addressing reporters in Coimbatore, she accused the ruling party of fueling regional divides for political gain and urged Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to stop insulting citizens from other parts of India.

‘DMK Thrives on North-South Politics’

Vanathi Srinivasan alleged that the DMK has a long history of promoting divisive ideologies such as “North vs South” and “Aryan vs Dravidian.”

“Everyone knows that the DMK has always played politics by invoking regional and linguistic sentiments. Despite facing a labour shortage, Tamil Nadu continues to depend on workers from northern states like Bihar and West Bengal,” she said.

‘DMK Leaders Have Insulted Bihari Workers’

Citing several instances, Vanathi accused senior DMK leaders of repeatedly insulting migrant workers from northern India.
She recalled that former state minister K. Ponmudi, MP Dayanidhi Maran, and organizing secretary R.S. Bharathi had allegedly called workers from Bihar “people who come to sell pani puri and clean toilets.”

She also pointed out that DMK MP Senthilkumar had referred to Hindi-speaking states, including Bihar, as “cow urine states” in Parliament.

“Such remarks have spread hatred and even led to isolated attacks against migrant workers. The DMK must take responsibility for creating this atmosphere of division,” she said.

‘PM Modi Spoke the Truth’

Vanathi Srinivasan defended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks during his campaign, saying he had only highlighted the DMK’s discriminatory attitude towards northern workers.

“The Prime Minister said the DMK is harassing Bihari labourers working in Tamil Nadu, and that the Congress has invited those who insult Biharis to campaign in Bihar. These are facts, not allegations,” she noted.

‘Modi Never Targeted Tamils’

Reacting to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s accusation that the Prime Minister was creating animosity between Tamils and Biharis, Vanathi said, “The Prime Minister has never blamed the people of Tamil Nadu. He has only pointed out the DMK’s divisive mindset that seeks to pit regions against each other.”

‘DMK Must Stop Insulting Parts of India’

Concluding her statement, Vanathi said the DMK’s pattern of denigrating Hindus, Hinduism, and people from northern states reveals its core ideology of division.

“Chief Minister Stalin and the DMK must stop denigrating a part of India in this manner. The people of Tamil Nadu do not support this hatred-driven politics,” she asserted.
