Sonam Wangchuk Responds to Viral CJP Celebration Videos (Img: X)
New Delhi: Social activist Sonam Wangchuk has reacted to viral videos showing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders and supporters celebrating after the conclusion of the NEET protest movement.
The videos, reportedly filmed at a hotel gathering described as a "resignation party," surfaced after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stepped down following weeks of nationwide protests.
Responding to the celebrations, Wangchuk appealed to supporters to remain humble despite what they see as a significant victory.

Speaking to the media, Wangchuk said that success should not become a reason to hurt others. "Victory should have humility. Don't do something that will hurt the sentiments of anyone. I appeal to everyone to move forward with love and a big heart," he said.
His remarks came as the celebration videos continued to circulate widely on social media.
Wangchuk also addressed criticism over ending his 26-day hunger strike in the presence of Union ministers J. P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh.
He explained that in Ladakh, it is considered a mark of respect and acceptance when a government representative breaks a protester's fast, symbolising that the government has acknowledged the demands being raised. He described the gesture as part of Ladakhi tradition rather than a political endorsement.
Congratulating the organisers and participants, Wangchuk said the movement succeeded because it remained peaceful despite clashes and police action.

According to him, meaningful change came through non-violence rather than confrontation. He also urged people across India to continue following Mahatma Gandhi's principles of peaceful protest.
Wangchuk described the resignation of the Education Minister as only the beginning of a broader reform process. He expressed hope that the Centre would honour its commitments, including education reforms, withdrawal of cases against peaceful protesters and protection of students who participated in the agitation.
