Chhath Puja concludes with offerings to the rising Sun; Devotees gather in large numbers at Delhi ghats

New Delhi: The fourth and final day of the Chhath festival is being celebrated across the world today on Tuesday. Large number of devotees flocked as many as 1300 ghats including 17 major ghats along the Yamuna River here in Delhi and broke their 36-hour fast by offering prayers to the rising sun, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The Chhath Puja festival began on 25 October with 'Nahay Khay' and today on the forth day, the rising sun is being offered "Usha Arghya," marking the end of the 36-hour fast.

The last day of the Chhath Puja is being celebrated across the country including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and Maharashtra (Mumbai). Collective Mass Chhath Puja is being held at over 80 locations in Mumbai and Thane.

Indian devotees in many countries including USA, Canada and UK offered their "Usha Arghya" on Monday. In many other countries including Fiji, Nepal, Suriname, Mauritius, and Trinidad-Tobago also devotees are offering prayers to the rising sun and celebrating the festival with great fervour.
