New Delhi: Pradosh Vrat, one of the most revered observances in Hinduism dedicated to Lord Shiva, will be observed twice in November 2025. Falling on the Trayodashi Tithi of both Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha each month, this sacred fast is believed to grant divine blessings, remove obstacles, and bring peace and prosperity to devotees who observe it with devotion.

According to Sanatan Dharma, Lord Shiva, also known as Aghaddani the one who bestows happiness and removes sorrows  showers special grace upon those who keep the Pradosh Vrat with faith and sincerity.

Since both Pradosh fasts in November fall on a Monday, they are observed as Som Pradosh Vrats, considered especially auspicious for devotees of Lord Shiva.

Significance of Som Pradosh Vrat

When Pradosh Vrat coincides with a Monday, it is called Som Pradosh, which holds immense spiritual importance. Monday, or Somvar, is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Chandra Dev (the Moon God). It is believed that observing a fast on this day helps devotees attain mental peace, emotional balance, and prosperity.

According to ancient scriptures, observing Som Pradosh helps remove negative energies, relieves stress and anxiety, and purifies the mind and soul. Devotees believe that this vrat fulfills heartfelt desires, ensures a happy married life, and strengthens familial harmony.

Rituals and Worship During Pradosh Vrat

Devotees observing the Pradosh fast usually begin their day with an early morning bath and offer prayers to Lord Shiva. Many choose to abstain from food until evening, while others consume only fruits and milk.

A Month of Double Blessings

With two Som Pradosh Vrats falling in November 2025, the month is considered highly auspicious for those seeking peace, prosperity, and divine protection. Observing this sacred fast with sincerity is said to invite the blessings of Lord Shiva and bring spiritual upliftment, family harmony, and lasting happiness.
