Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has entrusted a significant responsibility to Archana Kalpathi Aghoram, a renowned film producer from the South Indian film industry. She has been appointed as a member of the reconstituted state-level committee of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department. This committee will oversee the appointment of non-hereditary trustees for temples with an annual income exceeding ₹10 lakh.

According to an order issued by J. Kumaragurubaran, Secretary of the HR&CE Department, this seven-member committee has been constituted for a two-year term, effective from July 24.

Other Key Members of the Committee

Thavathiru Sivagnana Balaya Swamigal of Bommapuram Adheenam has been appointed as the Chairperson of the committee, while retired District and Sessions Judge K. Ramanathan has been entrusted with the role of Vice-Chairperson.

Strong Association with Vijay's Films

It is worth noting that Archana Kalpathi is associated with 'AGS Entertainment'. Her production house has produced superhit films starring Thalapathy Vijay, such as 'GOAT' and 'Bigil'.

This appointment is being viewed as highly significant in political circles, especially coming shortly after actor Vijay appointed K. Venkat Narayanan—the producer of his final film 'Jana Nayakan'—as the Special Representative of the Tamil Nadu government in Delhi.
