Bill Gates, who has had a long association with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for 25 years, was all praise for the various initiatives undertaken by the state in good governance and technology. Gates and Naidu also reviewed the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI), in view of the major breakthroughs achieved by China on the AI front.

Amaravati: Bill Gates on Monday visited Amaravati and reviewed various projects being funded by the Gates Foundation and praised Andhra Pradesh's Real-Time Governance Initiatives. Gates spent half a day with Naidu and also visited the Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) at the Secretariat in Amaravati.
During the visit, Chief Minister Naidu detailed how faster and more efficient civic services are being delivered through real-time governance, showcasing the results achieved so far, as per Dynamite News correspondent.
Gates inquired about key initiatives, including Data Lake, Aware 2.0, WhatsApp Governance, the Sanjeevani project, and ongoing capital development in Amaravati. Naidu explained that all government departments are interconnected through Data Lake, enabling real-time decision-making.
Impressed with the efforts to simplify citizen services, Gates praised the use of Data Lake and WhatsApp Governance. The Chief Minister explained that Aware 2.0 collects real-time information, allowing the government to make faster and more informed decisions.
Gates also examined the mechanisms for public feedback on various schemes, the regular assessment of GSDP growth through key performance indicators, and measures to secure land records using blockchain technology and QR codes, ensuring transparency. Terming the state's tax collection system as "amazing," Gates was briefed that GST implementation has significantly improved revenue collection.
On Amaravati development, Gates appreciated the "30 per cent green and blue plan" and described the ongoing construction works as "great work." Gates also praised the state’s plans to integrate AI into public health services, noting that affordable diagnostic services would benefit the poor.
