Stalin stated that this is a promise made to the women of Tamil Nadu, and no one can stop it. He alleged that efforts were being made to withhold funds for three months citing the election process, but his government would not back down on the issue of women's rights. He described it as a major step towards social justice and women's empowerment.
The Chief Minister described this scheme as a hallmark of the state's "Dravidian Model" governance system. He also hinted that under the proposed "Dravidian Model 2.0," the monthly assistance to women could be increased from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000. This indicates a preparation to further strengthen women's welfare schemes.
