Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on Sunday unveiled the DMK’s election manifesto, placing strong emphasis on expanding welfare schemes while maintaining economic momentum.
Released in Chennai, the document outlines a mix of social support measures and long-term development plans, with the party seeking another term in office.
A major highlight of the manifesto is the doubling of monthly financial assistance for women heads of families from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000. The move is expected to benefit over 1.37 crore women across the state.

The government has also proposed raising the old-age pension to ₹2,000, reinforcing its focus on social security for vulnerable groups. Additionally, the breakfast scheme for schoolchildren will be expanded from Classes 1-5 to cover students up to Class 8.
Women-led self-help groups are set to receive interest-free loans of up to ₹5 lakh, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and financial independence.
The manifesto also promises to enhance coverage under the Chief Minister’s health insurance scheme, increasing the benefit limit to ₹1 lakh. Healthcare infrastructure will see expansion, including a plan to double dialysis units in government hospitals.
The DMK has pledged to continue free electricity support for more than 20 lakh beneficiaries, along with the provision of agricultural pump sets without meters.
In the education sector, laptops will be distributed to around 35 lakh students pursuing higher studies, reinforcing the party’s focus on digital access and learning.
On the economic front, Stalin outlined an ambitious plan to attract investments worth ₹18 lakh crore, with the aim of expanding Tamil Nadu’s economy significantly.

Stalin asserted that the DMK government has fulfilled its earlier promises and delivered beyond expectations. He urged voters to support continuity in governance, stating that sustained efforts are key to the state’s development trajectory.
