Mahabalipuram: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and actor Vijay on Sunday hinted that his party could contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections independently and emerge victorious. Addressing a rally in Mahabalipuram, he struck a combative tone, asserting that neither the ruling DMK nor the opposition AIADMK deserved to govern the state.

“We are at a very important juncture in our political journey,” Vijay told party workers. “What is going to happen now is not just an election; it is a democratic battle. You are the commanders who are going to lead this democratic battle.”

DMK and AIADMK Accused of Submitting to BJP

Vijay launched a sharp attack on Tamil Nadu’s two dominant Dravidian parties, accusing them of aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “The AIADMK has directly surrendered to the BJP, and the DMK has indirectly surrendered to the BJP,” he said. “The ones who ruled Tamil Nadu are now under the BJP. So there is no use. DMK now is also of no use.”

He added that TVK would not bow to political pressure. “Does this face look like it would succumb to pressure? I am not someone who can be controlled by use of force,” Vijay said.

TVK Capable of Taking on Established Parties

Positioning TVK as a credible alternative, Vijay said his party alone had the courage to challenge entrenched political interests. “Whether it is this evil force or that corrupt force, both should not rule Tamil Nadu. Only we have the guts and the attitude to truly and boldly oppose such parties,” he said.

He expressed confidence that TVK could win even without alliances, promising to root out what he termed the “evil force” and the “slave force” from the state.

Commitment to People and Principles

Vijay reiterated that TVK’s mission was to protect public interest and the state’s welfare. “We are here to save the people and protect the soil from anyone who intends to cause harm. We will never compromise our politics for anyone or anything,” he said.

Party Symbol Unveiled

During the rally, Vijay unveiled TVK’s official party symbol, the whistle, and played it on stage to cheers from supporters. Party workers waved flags and chanted slogans as Vijay called on them to prepare for a historic political battle in Tamil Nadu.
