Third Round of Questioning

According to sources, Vijay is scheduled to appear before the investigating agency at around 10:30 AM on March 15. Officials may question him over two days, on March 15 and 16, as part of the ongoing investigation.

This will be the third round of questioning for the TVK chief in the case. Vijay had earlier appeared before the CBI on January 12 and January 19, when his statements were recorded.

Probe into Karur Stampede

The CBI is probing the stampede that occurred during Vijay’s public outreach rally in Karur in September 2025, which resulted in the deaths of 41 people.

The investigation, which began after a directive from the Supreme Court, is examining several aspects including crowd management arrangements, permissions for the event, coordination between organisers and local authorities, and safety measures taken during the rally.

Officials have also questioned police officers and party organisers in connection with the incident.
