Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Agarwal on Tuesday assured voters of a safe and orderly polling process ahead of Phase 2 of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Elections 2026, stating that extensive security arrangements are in place across the state.
The CEO said both state police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been deployed to maintain law and order, particularly in sensitive locations. He emphasized that the administration is fully prepared to handle any disruptions during polling.

Monitoring operations from the control room at Jalsampad Bhawan, Agarwal said authorities are keeping a close watch on developments across districts.
“Everything is being recorded. There is nothing to hide. If anyone has complaints, they can report them, and we will address them,” he said, adding that details of complaints would be shared later in the day.

Urging citizens to remain calm, Agarwal said adequate forces are on the ground to ensure peaceful voting. “Everything will be all right, stay tension-free. We have police and CAPF deployed. Local administration is fully equipped to handle the situation,” he said.
The CEO also highlighted that additional personnel and reinforcements are readily available if required.
“I am monitoring everything from the morning. Wherever help or reinforcement is needed, it will be provided immediately,” he added.
