New Delhi: If a devotee wants to please Lord Shiva, then he should worship him methodically in the month of Sawan. Worshiping Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati in Sawan brings happiness, prosperity, and desired fruits.
It is said that Mata Parvati did harsh penance this month to get Shiva as a husband, due to which Shiva was pleased, and Shivji accepted him as his wife.
According to religious beliefs, chanting the mantra ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ is particularly fruitful, and it gives freedom from the sufferings and sorrows of life.
Importance of Sawan Monday
The Monday, which comes in the month of Sawan, has a lot of religious significance. On this day, all the wishes are fulfilled by worshiping Shiva.
For this reason, devotees eagerly wait for the Monday of Sawan. In this holy month, Shiva devotees especially perform Rudrabhishek and anoint the Ganges with water.
The month of Sawan is considered to be the most favourite time of Lord Shiva. It is believed that devotees who worship Shiva this month with full devotion will have their every wish fulfilled.
In this month, devotees go on a Kawar Yatra and consecrate Bholenath by bringing Ganga water.
Dates of Sawan 2025
The Sawan month in 2025 commences from July 11 and ends on August 9 with a total of four Mondays. Sawan will conclude with the festival of Rakshabandhan, which will come on 9 August this time.
Auspicious yoga and Shivwas yoga
This time, on the first day of Sawan, a special “Shivwas Yoga” is being made, in which Shiva will be seated on Mount Kailash with Mata Parvati.
