Abhishek Sharma missed India’s T20 World Cup match due to a stomach infection and brief hospitalization. Though he has rejoined the squad and resumed practice, uncertainty remains over his availability for the crucial clash against Pakistan.

Abhishek Sharma Provides Health Update
New Delhi: India opener Abhishek Sharma did not feature in Team India’s second match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup after falling ill upon reaching Delhi. Doctors diagnosed him with a stomach infection, following which he was admitted to the hospital for two days. Although he was discharged on February 11 and rejoined the squad, he did not play against Namibia. Even while being present with the team, it was evident that he had not fully recovered.
India’s next and most anticipated fixture is against Pakistan, and naturally, questions are being raised about Abhishek’s availability for the high-voltage clash.

As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding his participation against Pakistan. Reports indicate that Abhishek had already been unwell before the USA match, where he was dismissed on the very first ball.
He has been spotted training in Delhi, which is a positive sign. However, captain Suryakumar Yadav recently mentioned that Abhishek is not yet 100 percent fit. This suggests that the team management and the BCCI are unlikely to rush his return, especially considering the importance of his long-term fitness.
For now, fans will have to wait for the final call before the marquee India-Pakistan showdown.
