New Delhi: Cricket lovers can finally breathe a sigh of relief. After months of speculation about whether the Asia Cup 2025 would take place, media reports have now confirmed that the tournament will indeed be held.

The much-anticipated event is set to be hosted in the United Arab Emirates, with matches scheduled in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The tournament will be organized from 5 September to 21 September 2025. However, till now, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), ACC (Asian Cricket Council), and ICC (International Cricket Council) have not given any official statement on this.

According to a report, this time a total of 8 teams, including India and Pakistan, will participate in the Asia Cup. These teams will be India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Oman, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Hong Kong.

It will be the first time that so many teams will participate in the Asia Cup. Also, this tournament will be played in T20 format, whereas last time, i.e., in 2023, it was held in ODI format, in which India won the title by defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the final.

India vs. Pakistan clash looms at Asia Cup 2025

Nothing is clear about the India vs. Pakistan match in this year's Asia Cup, as the full schedule of the tournament has not been released yet. Recently, a match between India and Pakistan was also proposed in the World Championship of Legends 2025 in England, but the Indian players refused to play, due to which the organizers had to cancel the match.

This time a big change in the Asia Cup will also be that veteran players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja will not be a part of this tournament, because these three have retired from the T20 format. In such a situation, many new young faces can be seen in the Indian team, who will try to take full advantage of this opportunity.

Overall, Asia Cup 2025 will not only be exciting for cricket fans but will also be a golden opportunity for new players to prove themselves. The official announcement and schedule by the organizers are expected soon.
