New Delhi: Bangladesh national cricket team defeated Pakistan national cricket team by 11 runs in the third ODI, sealing the three-match series 2–1. The thrilling match was played in Dhaka, where Bangladesh held their nerve despite a strong fightback from Pakistan.
This victory is significant as it marks only the seventh time in ODI history that Bangladesh has beaten Pakistan, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Batting first, Bangladesh posted a competitive total of 290 runs in their 50 overs. The highlight of the innings was a brilliant 107-run knock by Tanzid Hasan, which was also his first century in One Day Internationals.
His innings provided the foundation for Bangladesh’s strong total and put Pakistan under pressure right from the start of the chase.
Chasing a target of 291 runs, Pakistan had a disastrous start. The team lost three wickets for just 17 runs, putting them on the back foot early. Key batters like Mohammad Rizwan and Sahibzada Farhan failed to make an impact.
By the time the score reached 82 runs, Pakistan had already lost five wickets, making the chase extremely difficult.
Just when the match seemed out of Pakistan’s reach, Salman Ali Agha stepped up with a remarkable century, trying to revive Pakistan’s hopes. He built a crucial 79-run partnership with Saud Shakeel, bringing the team back into contention.
Despite his outstanding effort, Pakistan fell just 11 runs short, finishing at 279/?? in 50 overs.
Towards the end, Shaheen Shah Afridi also fought hard and tried to push Pakistan closer to victory. However, Bangladesh bowlers managed to hold their composure and defended the total successfully.
In the end, Bangladesh celebrated a memorable series victory, while Pakistan were left ruing their early batting collapse.
