New Delhi: The Big Bash League (BBL) is Australia's premier domestic Twenty20 (T20) cricket competition, organised by Cricket Australia. Launched in 2011, it replaced the earlier KFC Twenty20 Big Bash and has since grown into one of the world's leading franchise T20 leagues.
Played during the Australian summer, typically from December to January, the BBL features Australia's top domestic talent alongside international stars.

However, overseas players from countries including England, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and the West Indies regularly take part in the tournament.

The fixture between Melbourne Renegades and Perth Scorchers is scheduled to be played at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium on December 12, 2026, marking the first BBL game to be held outside Australia.
