Gautam Gambhir furious over split coaching
New Delhi: Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir has been receiving criticism from across the nation for the team’s recent poor performances. He has been responding unequivocally to all his detractors. But now his tolerance has reached its limit, and feeling stifled by the criticism, he has not even spared his former IPL team owner.
Gautam Gambhir defers future to BCCI; Says team comes before self
When Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir came to the press conference after winning the ODI series against South Africa, his style looked quite different from usual. He looked clearly angry and even warned some people. The real controversy started with a post by Parth Jindal, co-owner of IPL team Delhi Capitals, to which Gambhir gave a strong reaction.
In the press conference, Gautam Gambhir said that some people also say things related to the Indian team that have no direct connection with cricketing decisions.
He said that: “Some people said such things who do not even understand cricket. An IPL owner talked about split coaching, which is absolutely wrong. People should stay in their own domain. Just as we do not interfere in their work, they should also not come into our area."

Although Gambhir did not take anyone's name, the indication was clear that he was referring to Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal.
This whole controversy started when India lost the Test series to South Africa. Soon after the defeat, Parth Jindal wrote a post on social media in which he raised questions on the team's selection policy and coaching model.
Not even close, what a complete thrashing at home! Don’t remember seeing our test side being so weak at home!!!This is what happens when red ball specialists are not picked. This team is nowhere near reflective of the deep strength we possess in the red ball format. Time for…

His post read something like this: "Very bad defeat at home. I can't remember the last time the team looked so weak. This happened because red ball specialist players were not selected. This team does not reflect India's true strength in the Test format. It is time that India appoint a specialist red ball coach for Test cricket.”
That is, Parth Jindal clearly said that a separate coach is needed for Test cricket—this is called split coaching.
Gambhir is angry because: The decision on the coaching strategy of Team India is a matter of BCCI and not of any IPL owner. This statement directly questions the team management and their coaching style.
Gambhir believes that the owner of the IPL franchise should not comment on the selection, strategy, or coaching of Team India, because this is not his area.

For this reason, he hinted that “people should stay in their domain,” which everyone saw as a message to Parth Jindal.
This controversy shows how sensitive the discussion on Team India's coaching system is. Parth Jindal had expressed dissatisfaction after the test team's defeat, but Gambhir found this interference.
This clash between the two raises important debates about the boundaries of roles and rights in Indian cricket.
