It is being told that his mother had a heart attack, after which she was admitted to the ICU. On 7 June, Gautam Gambhir, along with his team, had set foot on British soil.

The team is currently practicing in Beckenham, and the intra-squad practice match was to begin here today. But Gambhir had to leave England and return to India. However, he will join the team in England before the first match of the Test series.
