Mullanpur: India continued to dominate proceedings on Day 2 of the one-off Test against Afghanistan, with the visitors struggling at 63/3 at Tea, still trailing by 536 runs after a commanding Indian batting performance.

India Bundle Out Strong First Innings Total

India declared their first innings at 564/8 after resuming Day 2 on 368/3. Skipper Shubman Gill led from the front with a fluent 126, anchoring the innings with a 169-run fourth-wicket stand alongside Rishabh Pant, who scored 81.

Sai Sudharsan also contributed 81, while Washington Sundar remained unbeaten on 52* as India piled up a massive total.

For Afghanistan, Saleem Safi was the standout bowler, picking up six wickets, while Zia Ur Rehman and Hashmatullah Shahidi claimed one wicket each.

India’s Bowlers Strike Early

In reply, Afghanistan got off to a shaky start as India’s bowlers made early inroads. Manav Suthar struck first, removing Abdul Malik for 16.

Later, Prasidh Krishna broke through again by dismissing Sediqullah Atal, further denting Afghanistan’s top order.

At Tea, Afghanistan were 63/3, with India firmly in control of the match.

Afghanistan Under Pressure

With a huge first-innings deficit and three wickets already down, Afghanistan face an uphill battle to avoid a follow-on scenario as India look to wrap up the match early.
