New Delhi: India have announced their ODI and Test squads for the upcoming New Zealand tour with changes across both formats. Shubman Gill will lead the team in the first three ODIs before Shreyas Iyer takes charge for the final two matches. The Test series will begin on November 19.

Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer to Lead ODI Side

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squads on Friday. India are scheduled to play five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests against New Zealand, with the T20I squad already confirmed.

Gill will captain India in the first three ODIs, scheduled from November 4 to 15, while Iyer will lead the side in the remaining two matches as Gill prepares for the Test series.

Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel have missed out on the ODI squad after featuring in the previous selection against the West Indies. Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been included, subject to fitness.

Uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Kumar Kushagra has earned his maiden call-up and will replace KL Rahul for the final two ODIs. Ishan Kishan is also part of the squad, while Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retain their places.

Bumrah, Akash Deep Return to Test Squad

India's Test squad features a strong bowling attack, with Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep included alongside Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna. Anshul Kamboj has also been named in the squad.

Gill will captain the Test team, with KL Rahul appointed vice captain. The batting group includes Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikkal, Sai Sudharsan and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel provide wicketkeeping options.

Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav add all-round and spin-bowling options to the squad.

Gurnoor Brar and Auqib Nabi, named in the earlier Test squad, have been left out, along with Sarfaraz Khan Saransh, as listed in the announcement.

The two-Test series begins on November 19, following the ODI leg. The selections indicate India's plans to manage player workloads while preparing for the different demands of white-ball and red-ball cricket.
