New Delhi: IPL 2025 saw a tremendous match on Sunday night, where Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals in a completely one-sided manner. KL Rahul batted brilliantly for Delhi, but the stormy innings of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan spoiled everything, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Delhi's third defeat by 10 wickets

Delhi Capitals batted first and scored 199 runs. The start was a bit slow, but then KL Rahul changed gears and took the team to a strong score. But Gujarat's team played so well in response that Delhi's condition worsened. Shubman Gill scored 93* and Sai Sudarshan scored 108*, and they won the match without losing a single wicket.

This is the third time that Delhi's team has suffered a 10-wicket defeat in the IPL. Earlier in 2017, Punjab Kings and in 2015, Royal Challengers Bangalore did the same.

Delhi lost even after scoring 200 runs!

This is the second time this season that Delhi scored more than 200 runs yet lost—and both times the team that defeated it was Gujarat Titans. First, it lost after scoring 204 runs in Hyderabad, and now it failed to win even after scoring 200 runs in Delhi.

Not only this, but before this, in 2008 and 2018, Delhi failed to defend the target of 188 runs—once against CSK and once against SRH.

The Havoc Pair of GT

Sai Sudarshan's century and his tremendous partnership with Captain Gill completely neutralized the Delhi bowlers. KL Rahul's innings also faded. With this win, Gujarat Titans topped the points table and also qualified for the playoffs.

Difficult road to playoffs for Delhi

Gujarat's team is now number 1 in the table with 18 points in 12 matches. RCB and Punjab Kings are also behind with 17-17 points. But Delhi's condition is bad—only 13 points in 12 matches and just one win in the last 6 matches. In such a situation, it is becoming very difficult for them to reach the playoffs.

Fans buy Kohli No.18 jerseys after his retirement announcement

Cricket fans thronged merchandise stalls outside Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, snapping up memorabilia and jerseys bearing Virat Kohli’s iconic number 18 ahead of the IPL 2025 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders.

This was Kohli’s first match appearance since announcing his retirement from Test cricket earlier this month, and the occasion had added an emotional charge to what was otherwise a high-stakes league fixture.
