New Delhi: India captain Shubman Gill has reached the top spot in the latest ICC ODI batting rankings after impressive performances against England, while teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made a remarkable jump in the T20I rankings.
Gill, who led India's batting attack during the three-match ODI series against England, moved past New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell to become the world's No. 1 ODI batter.

The 26-year-old scored an unbeaten 80 in the opening ODI and followed it up with a 77-run knock in the third match at Lord's. His consistent performances helped him surpass Mitchell, who slipped to second place after failing to convert his strong start in the West Indies series.
India's senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma remain among the top-ranked ODI players, holding the third and fourth positions respectively.
Meanwhile, 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi created headlines by jumping 230 places in the ICC T20I batting rankings.
The young batter was ranked 278th before India's T20I series against Zimbabwe. After scoring 151 runs in three matches, including two half-centuries, Sooryavanshi climbed to the 48th position.
His rapid rise has increased expectations around the teenage cricketer, who is being seen as one of India's most promising young talents.
India's Ishan Kishan continues to hold the No. 1 position among T20I batters with a career-best 910 rating points. However, Abhishek Sharma dropped to third place, while Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan moved up to second.
Tilak Varma also gained ground and reached sixth position after an unbeaten run in the Zimbabwe series.
India retained its No. 1 team rankings in both ODI and T20I formats, continuing its dominance in international cricket.
