Who will replace Roger Binny to become BCCI next President?

Mumbai: Rajeev Shukla is all set to replace Roger Binny as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Binny Turning 70

Rajeev Shukla is the current Vice-President of BCCI, now according to sources, he will be taking over as interim President as departure of Roger Binny. According to the age limit rule of BCCI, Binny will step down from his post as he is turning 70 years old on 19 July this year.

Interim President

In such a situation, 65-year-old Rajiv Shukla will be given the role of interim President for the first three months. He will turn 66 in the month of September, which is the annual general meeting, and he can then stand for the full presidential elections.

Rajiv Shukla will hold this post as interim president until a new BCCI president is found.

Roger Binny Achievements

In the year 2022, Roger Binny had replaced Sourav Ganguly and became the 36th President of the BCCI. It can be said that the tenure of Binny was victorious because during this India won several titles, such as T20 World Cup 2024 and the Champions Trophy 2025.

Binny was a foremost member of the India Cricket Team when India won its first World Cup in 1983. Binny bowled brilliantly and took 18 wickets in this tournament.

Women's Premier League

He also started the Women's Premier League in cricket and took important steps to promote domestic cricket. Roger Binny worked on facilities like senior players also playing in domestic cricket and domestic cricketers getting handsome salary.

Binny, who was a former all-rounder of the Indian team, represented India in 27 Test matches and 72 ODI matches. He took 47 wickets in Tests and scored 830 runs with the bat, which included 5 half centuries. He took 77 wickets and scored 629 runs in 72 ODI matches.

Rajiv Shukla: A Brief Profile

On the other hand, Rajiv Shukla has been the Vice President of BCCI since 2020. He has also served as the Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association till 2017 and the President of Indian Premier League (IPL) till 2018.

The official announcement is expected closer to Binny's birthday (July 19), but if everything goes as planned, Shukla will take charge of BCCI operations this July.
