Dehradun: According to the election commission, BJP has won Bageshwar bypolls in Uttarakhand as their candidate Parvati Das secured 33,247 votes. Her rival Congress candidate Basant Kumar got 30,842 votes.

Besides prominent contenders Parvati Das and Basant Kumar, Bhagvati Prasad from the Samajwadi Party, Arjun Dev representing the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, and Bhagwat Kohli of the Uttarakhand Parivartan Party are also in the running for this bypoll.
The byelections were held in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Tripura, West Bengal, and Jharkhand on Tuesday.
