Saifai, Etawah/ 26Dec. SP Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav inaugurated famous ‘Saifai Mahotsav’ on Saturday. It is a cultural event being held every year in his native village in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh for past 18 years.
Saifai Mahotsav committee chairman and Badaun MP Dharmendra Yadav welcomed SP supremo by presenting flowers.
The event was declared open after Mulayam Singh Yadav paid obeisance to Lord Hanuman and performed a havan in presence of several dignitaries, including Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bacchan, Senior SP leader and General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav, Senior Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav, National General Secretary Rajesh Dixit and others.
The17-day long festival will see performances by a number of top artists like Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, gazal singer Peenaz Masani and several Bollywood stars. It will be chock-a-block with display of state’s extensive arts, crafts and culture. Other attractions include food, games like wrestling, laser show, laughter shows and vintage car rally.
The festival will end at 7pm on January 11 with sangeet sandhya.
