New Delhi/ 8 July 2016. Balika Vadhu colors channel daily soap opera which made headlines few months back by entering Limca Book of World Records for TV's longest running show which ran for eight years and now it is set to go off air.
Balika Vadhu began its journey on 2008 with child actors Avika Gor and Avinash Mukherjee playing the lead characters Anandi and Jagya. The show dealt with many social issues including child marriage, widow remarriage, adult education and female foeticide.
The actors are shooting the last episodes of the show will telecast its final episode on July 31. The dropping of TRPs was one of the reasons behind the Channel's decision to put an end to this show.
The main protagonist Mahhi Vij said that she has been not officially informed about the show going off air. It is unfortunate if Balika Vadhu is coming to an end. I wish the show was promoted well as no one knew that it was airing at an early evening time slot.
While on the other hand male lead Ruslan Mumtaz said “This hasn't been announced yet. I was told that we would be informed at least two months before the show shuts. But if it is ending, then it is time to move on to another project."
The show brought many new faces to lime light as it progressed and brought a different light to major social evils and rich culture of Rajasthan.
