Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan which is known as the ‘Pink City’ is a beautiful city located 260 km from Delhi with many tourist places. Dynamite News takes you on a tour of the Hawa Mahal in Jaipur, also called palace of winds or palace of breeze.

 

 

Architecture
The palace is a five story pyramidal shaped monument with the top three floors having a dimension of one roof width while the first and second floors have patios in front of them. The semi-octagonal bays give a unique shape to the monument. The rooms of the Mahal have different coloured marble which gives a beautiful look to the interior of the palace. It was one of the favorite resorts of Maharaja Jai Singh. Entrance is from back of the complex.

 

 

History
In 1799 Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh built the structure designed by Lal Chand Ustad in the form of Krishna’s crown. It is unique in formation with 953 small widows called jharokhas decorated with intricate latticework. The palace is an extended part of a huge complex and is constructed with pink and red colored stone.

 

How to reach:

Air: Jaipur is connected to Delhi (300Km), Mumbai, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Aurangabad, Calcutta and Varanasi by domestic flights.

Rail: The train service to Jaipur is available from all the major parts of the country. 

Road: Jaipur can be accessed from all the major places in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi and Mumbai by bus.
