Lucknow/ 7 May 2016. Sahara India Chief Subrata Roy lighted the funeral pyre of his mother Chhabi Roy at Baikunth Dham here amid family and friends.
She had passed away on Friday morning after a prolonged illness.
A pall of gloom enveloped the evening at Baikunth Dham as tears rolled down from thousands of eyes while paying their last tributes to the departed soul.
Earlier the funeral procession of Chhabi Roy started from Sahara City in the afternoon.
Thousands of people joined the procession with misty eyes.
UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, Film Star Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan and many other VIPs reached the Sahara City and paid their tributes to the departed soul.
