New Delhi: The Congress on Monday hailed the Supreme Court directing the State Bank of India (SBI) to disclose details of each electoral bond encashed by political parties by March 12 as the first step in exposing the corruption, scams and transactions of the Narendra Modi government.

Terming it as a victory for transparency, accountability, and a level playing field in democracy, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on his social media post X, said, “With today’s decision of the Supreme Court, the country will soon know the list of those who donated to BJP through electoral bonds”.

He said despite the SC direction, the country would not be able to know for which contracts the selected capitalist fund holders of BJP were giving donations to Modi government adding that the Supreme Court should give appropriate instructions in this regard.

Meanwhile, Congress general Secretary K C Venugopal too welcomed the SC’s direction to SBI saying that the apex court had once again come to protect Indian democracy from the devious machinations of this regime.
