Mumbai: Former Chairman of Tata Group Cyrus Mistry died in an accident on Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway in Palghar, near Mumbai. Cyrus Mistry was traveling from Ahemdabad to Mumbai. Four passengers in the car at the time of the accident. Two died on the spot, including Mistry, while the other two were shifted to hospital.

The accident took place around 3.15 pm. The accident took place on a bridge over the Surya river.

Cyrus Mistry was the sixth chairman of Tata Sons, was ousted from the position in October 2016.

Cyrus Mistry had taken over as the chairman in December 2012 after Ratan Tata announced his retirement. N Chandrasekaran later took over as Executive Chairman of Tata Sons.
