Mumbai: An informal meeting of the opposition bloc INDIA was held in Maharashtra's Mumbai on Thursday and most of the leaders present in the informal meeting expressed apprehension that the government may call early elections for the Lok Sabha, said sources.

According to sources, discussions were held in the informal meeting regarding issues that should be put before everyone in the INDIA alliance conference on Friday.

As per sources, the leaders present in the meeting said that even if elections are held soon, the alliance memmbers should still be prepared. In Friday's meeting, the discussion on the issue of one country, one election is likely to be on the agenda of INDIA alliance conference, said sources.

The meeting of the INDIA alliance is also likely to discuss the reason for calling a five-day special session by the BJP government, and formulate a joint opinion on key issues like the Uniform Civil Code, Jammu Kashmir elections and mid-term polls.

Apart from this, decisions regarding the formation of some sub-committees like the Research Team, Social Media Team, and National Issue Team will also be on the agenda of the conference.

As per sources, there will also be discussions on the appointment of spokespersons of INDIA alliance and the formation of committees to work on a common minimum program. The issue of seat sharing can be resolved only after the common minimum program is decided.

All the parties will be able to develop strategies in their respective constituencies only after the seat sharing is decided, therefore, everyone agreed that all decisions should be taken quickly without any delay.

The Udhav Thackeray faction leader Aditya Thackeray was asked about the informal meeting to which he said "Bohot acchi rahi (meeting was really good)".

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said " Seat sharing will happen across the country".

On Friday INDIA alliance has a busy schedule ahead of it with a group photo session with delegates and the INDIA logo unveiling scheduled for the early half of the day. The delegates will then break for lunch hosted by the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) and Maharashtra Congress Committee (MRCC). The leaders of all the INDIA member parties will then interact with the media in a News Conference later in the day. (ANI)
