Jammu and Kashmir: On Tuesday, an uproar erupted in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly over the demand to bring an adjournment motion on the Waqf Bill.

Ahmed Kalu of the National Conference urged the speaker to halt the proceedings and discuss his adjournment motion. Amid the ruckus, several MLAs scuffled with each other.

Abdul Majeed, Ehsan Pardesi, and Sheikh Rashid of the National Conference reached the well. When the MLAs of the National Conference traduced Sajjad Gani Lone for being a partner of the BJP, Sajjad Lone taunted back by saying that the National Conference was double-faced, citing Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s meeting with Kiren Rijiju and his visit to the Tulip Garden.

The speaker said, "What has become a law cannot be changed here. I will not allow any discussion over this."

However, the MLAs of the National Conference started raising slogans over the Waqf Bill. Following this, Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather adjourned the House proceedings for half an hour.
