LS Polls: Nomination filing for 7 seats in Delhi begins; Polling on May 25

New Delhi: With the notification of sixth phase of poll for May 25 election, the nomination process for 7 Lok Sabha seats in Delhi began on Monday, reports Dynamite News correspondent. 

This time in Delhi it is direct fight between BJP and AAP-Congress alliance. BJP has swept all seven seats in the last two elections.

The nominations can be filed till May 6 between 11am to 3pm.

Here are the key dates: 

April 29: Issue of gazette notification and starting of nomination process  
May 6:    Nomination filing ends
May 7:    Scrutiny of nominations 
May 9:    Last date of withdrawal of candidature
May 25:   Polling
June 4:   Counting of votes

In all the seven constituencies, there is a direct fight between BJP and AAP-Congress alliance: 

1. New Delhi
   Bansuri Swaraj (BJP)
   Somnath Bharti (AAP)
2. Chandni Chowk  
   Praveen Khandelwal (BJP) 
   JP Agarwal (Congress)
3. South Delhi
   Ramvir Singh Bidhuri (BJP)
   Sahiram Pehalwan (AAP) 
4. West Delhi
   Kamaljeet Sehrawat (BJP)
   Mahabal Mishra (AAP)
5. North West Delhi 
   Yogendra Chandolia (BJP)
   Udit Raj (Congress)
6. East Delhi
   Harsh Malhotra (BJP)
   Kuldeep Kumar  (AAP)
7. North East Delhi
   Monaj Tiwari (BJP)
   Kanhaiya Kumar  (Congress)

As on April 20, a total of little over 1.5 crore voters are eligible to vote at nearly 13,000 polling booths across the city. 

In sixth phase a total of 57 seats in 6 states and Delhi, are going to polls on May 25.
