PM says Budget will boost India's development, empower poor and farmers

Describing the Union Budget for 2019-20 as the Budget for New India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said it has a roadmap to transform the agriculture sector of the country.

New Delhi: Describing the Union Budget for 2019-20 as the Budget for New India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said it has a roadmap to transform the agriculture sector of the country. 

``The Budget is one of hope and it is a budget that will boost India's development in the 21st century,' the Prime Minister said in his reaction. 

He said the Budget would strengthen the industrial sector and further increase the participation of women. 

``This Budget will simplify tax administration, modernise infrastructure and would quicken the pace of progress of middle class and speed up the development,' he said. 

The Budget will give strength to the poor and also act as an all encompassing step to empower poor, dalit, and farmers, Mr. Modi said. ``The Budget will herald a new and better tomorrow for the youth of the country,' he said. (UNI)
