Supreme Court rejects petition seeking use of ballot papers

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a plea seeking the use of ballot papers instead of Electronic Voting Machines in the elections.

Rejecting the plea, a bench of Justices Vikram Nath and PB Varale held that accusations of EVM tampering are made only when people lose polls.

The apex court's decision has come as a blow to the opposition parties who questions the use of EVMs and sought to revert to ballot paper in the elections. (Being Updated)
