Supreme Court takes note of Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav’s remark on Muslim community

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday took note of media reports regarding a speech given by Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav, a sitting judge of the Allahabad High Court. 

Notably, the judge made remarks on Muslim community while speaking over Uniform Civil Code (UCC). 

According to Dynamite News Correspondent,  the apex court has sought details of the speech from the High Court.

Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav made a controversial statement at a program of Vishwa Hindu Parishad's legal cell in Prayagraj on Sunday. Justice Shekhar said that he had no issue in saying that 'India would run according to the wishes of the majority'.

The judge added that being a Hindu, he respected his religion, but that did not mean he had any “ill will” towards other religions or faith.
