West Bengal: BJP’s Haldia MLA joins TMC

Breaking news coming in from Kolkata where BJP MLA Tapasi Mondal has joined the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC party, dealing a blow to the saffron party in the state. Read further on Dynamite News:

Kolkata: West Bengal BJP MLA Tapasi Mondal on Monday joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC), reports Dynamite News correspondent. 

"Welcoming BJP's Haldia MLA Tapasi Mondal to the Trinamool Congress family,"  TMC said in a statement. 

"Her decision to join us is a testament to the growing disillusionment with BJP’s politics. Under the leadership of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee she will work tirelessly for the people’s welfare," it added. 

The MLA is considered close to Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari.
