Coimbatore: Today, former BJP State President Annamalai participated in the grand Vinayagar immersion procession organized in the Thudiyalur area of Coimbatore district. He received the blessings of Lord Vinayagar and expressed his joy, stating, “I am extremely pleased to be part of this event.”
He mentioned that during the British era, people were prohibited from gathering on religious grounds. In defiance of this, freedom fighter Shri Bal Gangadhar Tilak established Vinayagar pandals in Mumbai, bringing people together and fostering national spirit.

Similarly, after Veer Sant Shri Ramagopalan initiated Hindu Munnani, the worship of Vinayagar and processions spread widely across Tamil Nadu.
For instance, last year, 230 Vinayagar idols were installed in the Thudiyalur area, while this year, the number increased to 268. Such events promote a sense of unity among people.
Last night, he also attended a large Ganesh Chaturthi gathering in Mettupalayam, located 45 km from Coimbatore. During the event, he criticized the Congress for disrespecting Prime Minister Modi’s mother and demanded that Rahul Gandhi apologize immediately.
He concluded by congratulating Hindu Munnani organizations for their noble efforts and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the elders who gave him the opportunity to participate. He urged everyone to welcome Lord Vinayagar with even greater enthusiasm next year and blessed the attendees with Anaimugan’s grace.
