New Delhi: Dubai is set to make history with the construction of the world’s first luxury villa built using robotic 3D printing technology. The project, led by the company Middle East Composites, is part of Dubai’s “3D Printing Strategy 2030”, which aims to cut construction time by up to 80 percent.

Unlike traditional construction methods, the villa will be built by digital machines instead of human laborers. A 3-axis robotic arm named “Couch” is being used to lay layers of concrete directly from computer data.

The robot can rotate 360 degrees and uses a special fast-drying printing mortar, allowing it to create curved and complex walls without extra support. Operating 24 hours a day, the robot ensures continuous construction without interruptions.

Traditionally, constructing such a villa would take around six months. Using 3D printing technology, the same work will now be completed in just two weeks.

This innovation not only saves time but also reduces the reliance on human labor, streamlines construction, and showcases Dubai’s leadership in adopting cutting-edge digital manufacturing techniques.
