X Unveils XChat App with Advanced Privacy Features
New Delhi: The tech world could see a major shift as Elon Musk's company, X (formerly Twitter), is preparing to launch a new messaging app. This app is reportedly called XChat, designed specifically for iPhone and iPad users. According to reports, the app may be available for download from April 17th.
The company is introducing XChat as an independent messaging platform separate from its existing app. While X was previously planning to upgrade its direct messaging feature, it has now decided to launch a dedicated app. This will provide users with a better and faster chatting experience.

XChat will offer end-to-end encryption, ensuring complete security for chats. Additionally, it will also include a disappearing message feature, allowing messages to automatically delete after a certain period of time. Users will also be able to edit and delete messages, giving them greater control.
A key feature of this app is the screenshot blocking feature, which will further strengthen user privacy. XChat will also support large group chats of up to 481 people. Calling will be available alongside text messaging, making the app a complete communication platform.
XChat is built on a new and improved architecture, which will improve its speed and security. The company claims that the app will not display ads or track user data. This clearly demonstrates that privacy is a priority.

XChat is currently available for pre-order on the App Store and will be automatically downloaded on April 17th. The app will work on devices running iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 or higher.
