iPhone 18 Pro to debut soon
US-based smartphone manufacturing giant Apple is gearing up for the launch of its next flagship smartphone series, the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. The company is still around two months away from the launch. However, reports have already revealed several features and specifications of what buyers can expect from the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro lineup.
The company is expected to adopt a new launch strategy this time. The company will be launching its next flagship series in two phases. The first phase is likely to take place in September, as traditional launches take place. In the first phase, the company is expected to launch iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max along with iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra, whereas the standard iPhone 18 is likely to launch in the second phase, which is expected to be scheduled in 2027.
The media reports and experts suggest that the company is not planning a major redesign; instead, the company is reportedly focusing on enhancing the experience through performance and software improvements.
The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature a 6.3-inch display, whereas the Pro Max variant is likely to feature a 6.9-inch display. Some reports suggest that the handset may shrink the Dynamic Island by as much as 35 per cent, making the display more usable without increasing its size.
The key upgrade of the upcoming device is expected to be its processor. Several media reports claim that the Pro series will be powered by the new A20 Pro chipset based on TSMC’s advanced 2nm process.
The next-generation flagship lineup is likely to run on iOS 27 out of the box, bringing the latest version of Apple Intelligence.
In terms of optics, the company is reportedly working on a manual variable-aperture mechanism for the primary sensor; this will allow users to control the amount of light entering the sensor, offering greater flexibility when shooting in different lighting conditions and giving photographers more creative control over depth and exposure.
The handset is expected to be packed with a 5,500mAh battery, which will be the biggest battery ever in an iPhone.
The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to launch at Rs 1,39,000 for the base storage variant, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max is likely to launch at Rs 1,54,900.
