New Delhi: Starlink, a satellite-based internet service operated by Elon Musk's company SpaceX, is going to be launched in India soon, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Starlink has received the GMPCS (Global Mobile Personal Communication Satellite) license from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) of the Government of India, paving the way for its operations in India.

Starlink setup kit price and features
According to a report by Business Standard, Starlink's standard setup kit will cost around ₹ 33,000. This kit is specially designed for residential users and will include several essential tools:

Internet plans and monthly fees
Starlink's unlimited data plans can cost between ₹ 3,000 and ₹ 4,200 per month. Although earlier it was being speculated that the company could also offer a very affordable plan of $10 (about ₹850) per month, now it is becoming clear that data limits may be fixed in low-cost plans.
Strategic partnership with Jio and Airtel
Starlink has partnered with two major telecom companies of India, Reliance Jio and Airtel. This partnership will help in hardware sales and network expansion. According to the report, Starlink's setup kit may be available at the retail stores of Jio and Airtel so that customers can easily get this product.

Apart from this, Starlink's Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network will play an important role in increasing internet access in remote and inaccessible areas of India. This will also enable fast internet service in those areas where it is difficult to set up traditional broadband networks.
