Telangana: Hyderabad airport receives bomb threat; IndiGo flight diverted

On 1 November at about 0535 hrs, a message was received from APOC that an email was received at RGIA Customer Support in from email ID Papaita Rajan at 05.25 hrs with Subject: Prevent landing of IndiGO 68 to Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: An IndiGo flight was diverted to a nearby airport after Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad received a bomb threat email today on Saturday morning, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

According to an Airport Official, "On 01.11.2025 at about 0535 hrs, a message was received from APOC that an email was received at RGIA Customer Support RGIA.Customersupport@gmrgroup.in from email ID Papaita Rajan <papita rajan@outlook.com> at 05.25 hrs with Subject: Prevent landing of IndiGO 68 to Hyderabad."

Bomb Threat Email

The bomb threat email read, "Onboard LTTE-ISI operatives have planned a major 1984 Madras Airport Modus Operandi style blast on impact at the RGIA Port Fuselages and Fuel tanks fixed with microbots. The IEDs will contain potent nerve gas. Frankfurt operation a test to study remedies. Please read steganographic document below for IED location details, read between lines."

BTAC Meeting

After the threat, the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) convened a meeting and decided the following that:

"1. The flight shall be diverted to the nearest airport.
2. The Captain of the flight shall be informed through ATC.
3. The Captain shall confirm the airport of landing.
4. A police complaint shall be lodged by GMR Security."

Earlier Threat

In last June an Air India flight had to make an emergency landing in Thailand after bomb threat in Phuket. Here are the details:

An Air India flight from Phuket, a Thailand resort island, to Delhi requested an emergency landing on Friday due to a bomb threat, Phuket airport authority said, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Accused Identity Not Known

On Friday, Air India flight AI379 was going from Phuket to Delhi when it received a bomb threat. After this, the plane had to make an emergency landing in Phuket. The identity of the person who made the threat is yet to be ascertained. This incident happened a day after the Ahmedabad air crash.

The 156 passengers on this flight were evacuated safely. The plane landed back at Phuket airport after circling over the Andaman Sea. No information has been received yet about the person who made the threat.

Emergency Landing

An official said that flight AI 379 has landed and is working further with the airport emergency service. Officials said that Air India flight going from the Thai island of Phuket to Delhi had received a bomb threat on Friday. As soon as the information was received, an emergency landing was made.
