The ruling CPI(M) led LDF won the byelection to Pala assembly constituency, wresting the seat from the opposition Congress led UDF.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “stealing money from the wallets of people and giving it to his friends.”
Criticising the Centre over the “relentless” rise in prices of petrol and diesel, former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram on Monday said that the Congress party demands petrol and diesel be brought under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) immediately.
“We hope Congress will form the Government in Karnataka and are confident of it, but yes all options are also open,” said Gehlot.
