The court said that this is completely a matter related to the government’s policy and it would not be right for the court to interfere in it. A bench of Chief Justice B. R. Gavai and Justice K. Vinod Chandran asked the petitioner to put his point directly in front of the government.
The petition was against the interim order of a Bangalore court, in which 390 media organizations were directed to remove about 9,000 links and news.
Senior advocates Kapil Sibal, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Gopal Shankarnarayanan and Shadab Farasat had filed a petition in the Supreme Court on this issue.
