The ELF is the first such strip in the Northeast and has been designed and constructed in coordination with the Indian Air Force. The main objective of this strip is to support the landing and takeoff of military and civilian aircraft during emergencies.
A Sukhoi aircraft, awaiting induction in the Indian Air Force, crashed near here this morning, police said.
