Kannauj: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday visited his parliamentary constituency of Kannauj, where he attended several local programmes and interacted with the media. During the visit, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister launched a sharp criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of being responsible for multiple challenges facing the country.

Akhilesh Attacks BJP Over Public Issues

Speaking to reporters, Yadav said that various problems affecting citizens, including rising prices and concerns linked to agriculture, were the result of policies pursued by the BJP government.

He argued that as long as the BJP remained in power, different forms of crises would continue to emerge. According to him, many of the difficulties faced by farmers and ordinary citizens could be traced back to government decisions.

Raises Concerns Over Potato Farmers

The Samajwadi Party leader also referred to issues affecting potato growers in Kannauj and surrounding regions. He claimed that local residents had witnessed the decline of market infrastructure and alleged that potato farmers had suffered losses during the BJP's tenure.

Yadav said the concerns of farmers should receive greater attention and support from policymakers.

Comments On Future Elections

During the interaction, Akhilesh Yadav also suggested that the BJP had already begun preparing for upcoming elections. He alleged that the ruling party was making new announcements and conducting surveys to assess public opinion ahead of future electoral contests.

According to him, these exercises were aimed at understanding voter sentiment before the next major political battle.

Remarks On Religious Leaders

Responding to a question on issues related to religious figures, Yadav said saints and spiritual leaders hold a respected place in society. He questioned whether investigating authorities should be examining such individuals and stressed the importance of respecting religious institutions.

His remarks came as part of a broader discussion on current political and social issues during his visit to Kannauj.
