Jhansi: A shocking case has come to light from the Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh. 15-year-old girl Riya has been bitten by a snake not once, but nine times in 40 days. This has created an atmosphere of panic in the family. The latest case is of 6 pm on Sunday, when Riya was in her house and suddenly the snake bit her once again.

July 22: The first bite

Riya's condition deteriorated after the snake bite, due to which she was immediately admitted to Sirathu Community Health Center. Riya's father, Rajendra Maurya, said that his daughter was bitten by a snake in the field for the first time on July 22. Since then this sequence has continued continuously. The second bite was on August 13; while between August 27 and 30, the snake bit Riya four times.

Mysterious black snake with green stripes

The snake bit for the seventh time as well, which scared the whole family. According to the family, the snake appears suddenly every time, whether it is in the house, in the field, or when Riya is taking a bath. Riya has now started getting scared seeing that snake. The snake is dark black in color with green stripes on it. About an hour after the bite, Riya faints.

The family has spent all its savings for treatment and is now forced to resort to exorcism. Riya's younger siblings have gone to their maternal grandparents' house due to fear of snakes. The family is now planning to leave the village.

Even doctors are shocked

Dr. Akhilesh Singh, Medical Officer, Sirathu CHC, said that Riya was brought to the hospital several times, where each time snake teeth marks were found on her legs. She was given an antivenom injection, and a few times she was referred to the district hospital or Prayagraj when her condition became serious. According to doctors, repeated snake bites to the same person are an unusual situation, and a thorough investigation is necessary.
